Sometimes it just takes a little brainstorming to complete a facility while saving a great deal of time and money. We were in the process of completing the third addition to a building for a client. The client had wanted large doors to get process equipment into the building. We had designed accordingly.
As time went on and the project was taking shape, the client was gathering costs of equipment installation. Looking at the addition and the potential locations of the equipment, I knew the equipment setting would be a costly move. Too bad we just couldn’t move the equipment in before the roof was on. Just set them over the walls with the crane. Why not – yes, why not?

I talked to the owner about it. The cost savings had to be great. It was a safe way to place the equipment, and it would be completed in minimal time.
Well, everyone was in agreement. We scheduled a crane for the Friday after Thanksgiving.
The equipment was placed, and on that next Monday morning, Spancrete Industries was there to set the precast roof plank.
Those large doors were installed for the day when the equipment needs to be pulled for replacement.
